Nat Geo Magazine International App Reviews

Really very nice

Great images and layout - a pleasure to have it on my iPad at all times! The application though itself is sloppy - previous purchases are mixed in with magazines to buy - might be nice to create a separate periodicals library where purchases migrate to.

In french ???

Very good application ! But in french will be perfect ! À quand des éditions françaises ?

Subscription disappeared

The issues are great but beware as the archive system does not work and once read the issue disappears from your account and you have to buy it again if you want to look at it. I have paid for one year subscription and this is a bit much and surely disappointing for such a good publication. Not sure my annual subscription has been registered properly. No customer service. My advice : stick to the paper issues!

lost my annual subscription

doesnt work since last update. I lost all my archives and my annual subscription. no support stay away from this version

Top

The US English version (this one) is excellent, top magazine on the iPad. Quality and brilliant.

Bad app

The app bugs and needs a reinstall every once in a while, making youndownload ALL your purchases again, very annoying. Also, after an automatic renewed subscription last month the app simply wont recognize my subscription and I cant read the magazines latest issue. Having a really tough time trying to solve that.

Great!!

Great as the paper version

Outstanding

This app is an astonishing example of how to use the abilities of the iPad to create an intense reading experience and extra value as compared to the print version.

Finally!

Finally an application that is not in German! Thank you! I already subscribed for a whole year! :) i love NG, and it is soo hard to find any newspapers in English here in Germany.

One of the best magazines for high subscription price

NG is certainly one of the best illustrated magazines. With the new update you can subscribe to the international NG issue. But instead of 19.99 $ you have to pay for annual subscription in the US store (as well as other iTunes stores) when subscribing in Germany 29.99 $ (23.99 €) are charged for one and the same magazine! A request about the pricing sent to the NG app support remains unanswered!

Where is the german Edition

Really like the NG App, but where is the german Edition?

Scam - avoid!

Downloaded this app, andhappily paid for some issues of the magazine ... just ... impossible to download them. "unknown error" is all I get. Other users seem to have the same problem, but NatGeo obviously dont care ... just as long as they get your money, they dont care whether you can actually read what you paid for. Biggest scam I ever downloaded!

I can Download the magazines but

The pages are graphics instead of text/PDF ! And the resolution is for IPad 2 not the new iPad. Not recommended to new iPad users!

No problem downloading

NG content is second to none. My only disappointment is that the app has not been upgraded to utilize the increase resolution of the new iPad. Come on NG, get the upgrade out!!!

Content great, App with problems

Of course, the content of NG is always very interesting. However, the app does crash on me quite often on the iPad 1. With this May issue, the Interactive Timeline about slavery is impossible to use. It crashes on almost every click in the app. Please update this.

Annoying

i bought it - but each time you download a new edtion some of the previous ones (downloaded already) have to download again. Very annoying when you have to download again and again and again... and it should be a thing for mobile on the way or not? so dont buy it.. keep with the printed ones..

One major problem!

There is only one reason why I do not subscribe to National Geographic on my iPad: It does not support the „Retina Display“ resolution. That is such a shame! Enhance the resolution and I will subscribe. Otherwise there is really no point.

Pictures, Maps, Texts all blurred

Very annoying Lack of Sharpness. You feel like 1980s Commodore C64 or Amiga 500 times, such ridiculously resolved images. Low-res everywhere. And dont you try to zoom in. Its a slushy nightmare. In a photo Magazine - I ask You! But see for yourself. Download the cleopatra Sampler and relish the pixel mush.

Dictionary Support Please

Not much needs to be said about National Geographic. Its still one of the best monthly publications the Western world has to offer. Just one request: please make text selectable so that users can call up the devices integrated dictionary lookup. You can disable copying for all I care, but the dictionary function is something I miss severely.
